ALL requests for demolition status and escrow amounts have to be in writing and faxed to 313.943.2097. Information can only be requested on your own listings. If a buyer wants to know the status of a property that is NOT your listing, they have to fax a written request to Darlene at the city, and there will be a fee of $7 for the first 15 minutes of their time and 10¢ a page for a copy. Only the buyer can do this.

Performance escrow required for all "Temporary for closing only" certificates of occupancy's obtained for Demolition Only.

The fixed escrow amounts will be:
$10,000 - Single Family
$13,000 - Multi Family
TBD for all others

The temporary Certificate of Occupancy will expire in 120 days with a one time only extension of 60 days only with Manager's approval.

The escrow agreement form shall read as follows in line #2:
"Full and complete demolition within 120 days or the City of Dearborn WILL use the escrow money to complete the demolition per city specifications."

The Temporary Certificate of Occupancy shall have the following wording in the "Other Provisions" section:
"The purchaser agrees to demolish the subject building's in accordance with the Building and Safety Demolition Specifications.  The purchaser shall complete the demolition within 120 days of the date of this temporary certificate of occupancy."

Those buyers who are intending to re-build on the same lot and want to try and reuse the basement hole without backfilling MUST have their permit to build ready at the time of obtaining the temporary.  Term adjustments will be made at that time.

However, the 120 day limitation for a Temporary C of O will still apply and be enforced.
